OATI Continues Compliance Success with SSAE 16/ISAE 3402 Examination

Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) has successfully completed its SSAE 16/ISAE 3402 Type II Examination with no deficiencies, further supporting OATI’s commitment to stringent controls and standards.

Minneapolis, MN: December 18, 2012 – Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) has successfully completed a Type II SOC 1 Report in accordance with both the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16) and the International Standard on Assurance Engagements No. 3402 (ISAE 3402).

The examination period spanned April 01, 2012 to September 30, 2012. This marks the seventh consecutive year OATI completed a Type II examination with no deficiencies. The report, performed by Schellman & Company, LLC (Schellman), an affiliate company of BrightLine, consisted of a comprehensive evaluation of the effectiveness of OATI processes and controls, including strict North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements. Schellman found that OATI controls were complete, accurate and in accordance with the standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

“I am pleased that we successfully completed this examination for the seventh year in a row,” said Dr. Sasan Mokhtari, President & CEO of OATI. “OATI follows rigorous standards, and strictly adheres to NERC CIP guidelines. OATI is committed to providing the most secure and reliable services in the industry.”

OATI began conducting audits in 2005 with an AICPA Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) Type I audit. This was replaced from 2006-2010 with a SAS 70 Type II audit. Beginning in 2011, the AICPA retired the SAS 70 in favor of the current SSAE 16 examination.
