OATI Passes CA/Browser Forum Audit

Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) meets the CA/Browser Forum Baseline Requirements needed to issue publicly trusted Digital Certificates for SSL/TLS.

Minneapolis, MN: February 05, 2015 – OATI is pleased to announce that the OATI webCARES Certificate Authority (CA) has successfully completed the 2014 audit of the CA/Browser Baseline Requirements (“Baseline Requirements”). After a rigorous review, an independent third party auditor issued an AT 101 Attestation Services (SSL Baseline with Network Security) examination confirming that OATI webCARES meets all applicable Baseline Requirements for the Issuance and Management of Publicly-Trusted Certificates. The Baseline Requirements for the Issuance and Management of Publicly-Trusted Certificates describe the requirements that a CA must follow to be publicly trusted by browsers. In addition, many Smart Grid applications, mobile devices, and any other system that communicates over and SSL/TLS rely on the same public trust list. This successful examination assures customers that OATI webCARES is one of a few CAs that can issue publicly trusted Digital Certificates.

The Baseline Requirements, instituted by the CA/Browser Forum (https://cabforum.org), require CAs to verify that their processes and each certificate meet applicable standards. The AT 101 Attestation Services examination concluded that OATI has proper control of its Infrastructure, processes, and procedures which allows OATI to provide customers with the trusted certificates they need to secure their applications.

“OATI is dedicated to giving our customers the Digital Certificate security they expect and need to support their online and Smart Grid business operations,” said Dr. Sasan Mokhtari, President and CEO of OATI. “We take pride knowing our customers can rely on the trust of our webCARES Digital Certificates by all publically available browsers.”
